As the first project on RATIO’s books in 2019, this project has spanned a large chunk of several people’s careers, and is unquestionably the largest part of mine. My efforts were first put to use beginning in late 2022 on the skin of the podium, with particular attention to UHPC panel patterning and subsequent detailing, as well as cladding the ‘thru-drive’, a 500 foot long tunnel spanning the entire site at grade from east to west. As an elevated arrival experience, this area would become the first impression for any visitor arriving by car or bus.

As the project developed, I had a hand in creating and developing our Exterior Wall System (‘EWS’) for the project, which included the novel approach of bifurcating the modelling of nearly all exterior walls into separate backup and cladding components, which allowed an incredible - and necessary - level of independent control at corners, material changes, slab edges, and more. With no fewer than 10 distinct cladding systems and up to 3 or 4 minor variations of each, creating a “system of systems” was imperative and has continued to hold through the construction process.

After breaking ground in the summer of 2024, my role moved along into supporting the CA team, and taking responsibility for various tasks with limited time. On a more or less monthly basis, we have issued ASI’s to incorporate inevitable changes and updates.
